Shu was honored to be chosen as NC’s Online Teacher of the Year, 2009.  He has designed and instructed cutting-edge online class content and acquired over $100,000 in computer donations for students across NC.  As a classroom teacher, Shu’s students learned the curriculum through an innovative blended learning model.  He has a current NC Administrator’s License, and he has recently presented on classroom technology at the Raleigh Convention Center for the 2009 NCTIES convention.  Shu has helped develop and pilot the teacher evaluation process for the state of NC.  He is currently an online teacher and the evaluator for online teachers in the state of North Carolina.

He has a current NC Administrator’s License and tenure in North Carolina. He has presented on virtual education for the NCDLA (NC Distance Learning Association), NCTIES (NC Technology in Education), and for NCVPS training events, both face-to-face and virtual. He has led teams of teachers in virtual course development, and he currently serves as North Carolina Virtual School’s lead coordinator in the NC and Puerto Rico collaborative education project.
